Our Big Boy Turns 3!!
OH MY HOW TIME FLIES!!
Cody my big boy you are now three years old. You are such a special, loveable little man. Mommy and Daddy AND baby Owen love you very very much.
This year for your birthday you received a brand new bike!! Your very first two wheeler called a Strider. It has no pedals. You love it and are learning to cruise!
This year you asked for a John Deere birthday cake and that is what you got! Mommy made you a small cake, because we are planning to have a bigger birthday party for you and Owen on the 15th of July.
Either way I had fun making the cake and boy were you excited to see it!
Mommy and Daddy also got you a new bike helmet with "Diego" on it. He is a kids character that you love to watch on t.v. He is an animal rescuer! It came with matching knee pads too. You also received a new "cowboy" belt with buckle (every cowboy needs one you know), and more tractors! One of Daddy's friends Derek, bought you a very nice tractor toy, with a thing to pull behind...mulch ripper I think. You were thrilled.
On your birthday Sito came over and spent most of the day with us. We played all day and went out to the field to take some nice pictures of you and Owen. Mommy bought you matching shirts for Canada Day! You had fun running in the flowers, and picking wild strawberries with Sito. You looked so cute wearing your cowboy gear. You are one handsome boy!
Sito bought you a soft ball and bat! And Daddy made a very quick, special trip home for you on your birthday. He brought you another ball and bat and your own little digital camera. We ate BBQ chicken and sang happy birthday to you!
Later, the following week Mommy brought ice-cream to the the daycare and the girls made you a little ice-cream party! Lucky boy.
Owen: Week 49
Bah! My pictures for some of these posts are a little mixed up here but that's okay! As long as they end up in a post for this blog and I catch up on all the important things that have happened in this past while.
On the nice days we spend as much time outside as we can. I know winter will be here before long and summer is just too nice to be outside. Mommy is finding that the busy days at work lend to quiet days with you two at home. We all fully enjoy them. We get to sleep in, wear our jammies, play outside etc etc. We also try to get in a little visiting too. One day when you and Cody were having many giggles in the swings I snapped these pictures. I love your facial expressions and Cody's posing!
At the end of June Daddy was home, and we spent some time at the lake. We are trying to do this as much possible too because its so nice to be there. The water at this time is still too cold to swim in but I am hoping that it will be warm soon. Right now we play in the sand, take walks and make fires. One day Daddy looked after you and Cody while Sito and Mommy went to Edmonton to have a break and do some shopping. We had a relaxing day. Daddy said you boys were very good, and you even had a visit from Grandma Barb and Grandpa Norm. They brought Cody an early birthday present! A new tractor. I am sure by the time you are three and he is five you both will have enough John Deere Tractors to open your own store!
During week 49 your turned 11 months old!! Yikes one month to go and you my little one will no longer be a "baby" per se. You are a puzzling little boy. You do so much with your hands and make lots of noises. You say Mom mom mom, and gah gah gah. However, you really have not progressed to crawling or much yet. Mommy had a doctors appointment for you at the end of June. The doctor didn't think there was much to worry about but he did make an appointment with a paediatrician for you. So we will see what he says. Maybe you are just a bit lazy? Maybe you are just content staying put? You are a happy little one!

Owen: Week 48
Well the next little while went by quickly (I realize how quickly as I try to catch up on blog posts again), and actually I didn't think to take many pictures. Of course with work starting the days seem to go by even quicker, and I can't believe that June is so quickly passing by. On June 7th Mommy turned 30!!!!
Daddy sent Mommy a very beautiful bouquet of roses to work. And you and Cody made Mommy the most precious birthday card with your hand prints on it! It is so sweet and the best thing in the whole world to celebrate my birthday with you two.
Auntie Kelsey, Uncle Ian, Lindsay and Baby Emma all came over and we all had supper together. You had a taste of chocolate cake and let me tell you...you certainly wanted more!! You were hollering until we would put more in your mouth.
Here are some pictures of a day that Mommy took you to the lake. Also some from Mommy's birthday, and some of you playing with some very cute baby dachshund puppies!

Owen: Week 46 & 47
The last few days before Mommy returned to work were busy and went by quickly. Mommy took you two to Cold Lake where Auntie Kelsey watched the two of you and her baby Emma (three kids yikes)! Mommy went shopping for a few hours to get you both some clothes and summer things. You both were very good for Auntie Kelsey!
Mommy bought a sunshade type tent so that we can have some protection when we go to the lake. Its a bit too sunny for you baby Owen and sunburns hurt! Of course Mommy couldn't just leave it in the package. Cody insisted we set it up on the deck. It made for a fun afternoon of going in and out and trying it out!
Later on in the week Auntie Kelsey brought baby Emma over for a swimming party in the pool on the deck. It was lots of fun with splashing, and laughing! Emma wasn't as impressed but you and Cody had a lot of fun. And the next day Mommy started work!!!
On June 5, 2012 you and Cody began your first day of daycare. Mommy was very very nervous about dropping you both off. But the first drop off wasn't so bad...the worst was yet to come. You are the most happy baby, so it didn't bother you at all to be left there with the new ladies! You flirted and played. Cody was a little more reserved, but didn't do too badly. After that, the second day, the third day etc were harder for all of us. You actually continued to do well. Didn't seem to be bothered much, but Cody had a lot of difficulty with be left there. There was a lot of crying and Mommy felt very bad. But knew that you both were in good hands.
Unfortunately, you got yet another cold!! Poor little boy, you were very sick and Mommy even missed a day of work during that second week of work/ daycare. Mommy felt discouraged because you have been sick quite a bit. But that is the joy of "sharing" at day care!
